ALTEA Associate, Chris Holliday, spoked to Gerrard Cowan on flexible leasing arrangements in the September/October issue of Low Cost & Regional Airline Business magazine.

He explores some of the many ‘soft’ lease options in the aviation industry and their benefits. Short-term lease extensions with ‘pay-by-the-hour’ models are common for aircraft which are transferring lessees, as they minimise downtime and maintain airworthiness. Another option is ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance) or ‘wet’ leases, which provide supplementary capacity for increased seasonal demand, fleet transitions, or aircraft downtime.
